Numerical Modelling Of Flood Induced Seepage Under Levees

چکیده

Flood creates the most complex problems of engineering hydrology and extreme flood contains crucial risk for urban areas, infrastructure, industry agriculture. The aim this paper is to study transient flow caused by levee Filyos River. Numerical modeling based on finite element method was performed in analyses. PlaxFlow which an add-on module Plaxis 2D, used time variation seepage several points interest within levee. Exit velocity at degree saturation hydraulic gradient were investigated. In addition, under water through different soil types underneath examined. results analyses when piping occurred sand boil formed presented types.

Numerical modelling of induced rip currents by discontinuous submerged breakwaters

Submerged breakwaters are one of the shore protective structures. Any discontinuity in these breakwaters causes changes on current parameters including speed and water surface profile. In this paper, discontinuous submerged breakwaters were modelled to investigate the changes in the wave and flow pattern. To investigate the phenomenon, three models including a shore with constant slope, a shore ...

numerical modelling of tunnelling induced ground deformation and its control

tunnelling through cities underlain by soft soil, commonly associated with soil movement around the tunnels and subsequent surface settlement. the predication of ground movement during the tunnelling and optimum support pressure could be based on analytical, empirical or the numerical methods. the commonly used earth pressure balance (epb) tunneling machines, uses the excavated soil in a pressu...

A Numerical Study for the Simplification of Large Scenarios of Seepage under Dams

The seepage flow under concrete dams, besides its dependence on soil permeability and the different total head upstream and downstream, is strongly determined by the geometry of the scenario. However, there are limits in the length and depth of the ground for which the quantity of seepage converges to a maximum value. These limits values, which are not independent, separate two types of scenari...

A numerical simulation on seepage-induced collapse of caisson breakwater using a stabilized ISPH method

The clarification on the collapse mechanism of a caisson breakwater has been an urgent task in order to reduce damages caused by next millennium tsunamis. In this study, piping destruction of a mound induced by seepage flow is taken into consideration solely. A stabilized ISPH method proposed by Asai (2012) is adopted with some modification associated with the extended Darcy law (Akbari 2013, 2...
